A 3 days game viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park
The safari will start and end in Kampala. In the morning after briefing, you will head to Queen Elizabeth, a park which was designated as a biosphere reserve. The park comprises of Lake Edward and George which connect through the kazinga channel boasting Queen Elizabeth as one of the highest biodiversity ratings with a number of mammal and bird species of any park in Uganda. It’s commonly known for the world famous tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, chimpanzee trekking and primates in Kyambura gorge. Bird watching and other animals while on the launch trip. Game drives for viewing different wildlife, sight seeing on the crater lakes.
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in the park.
Drive towards the west and have a stopover at the Equator to take some photos. Enjoy the tea plantations, swamps, viewing of the Rwenzori Mountain ranges to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will reach in time for lunch and after have a launch trip on the Kazinga channel so that you can view the diversity of animal species that live near and in the water. The channel has the maximum concentration of hippos, very exciting viewing many birds and animals drinking water. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 2: Game viewing
Wake up early for morning game drive to see elephants, buffaloes, Topi, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, bushbucks, warthog, giant forest hog, leopard, lions and many more. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relax at the swimming pool. After lunch, drive to the marvelous crater region for sight seeing, baboon cliff and visit the traditional salt mining at Katwe. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 3: Departure
After an early breakfast, drive to Kyambura gorge to trek the habituated chimpanzees and expect to see a variety of primate species. After trekking, drive to Kampala having an lunch enroute arrive in the evening at leisure.
