A 3 days game viewing safari in the Lake Mburo National Park
The safari takes you to Lake Mburo National Park which is located between Masaka and Mbarara in Western Uganda, being the only park that contains an entire lake and is situated in the open grassy valleys and rolling hills. The Park has Aardvark, Hyrax, Porcupine, Hippopotamus, Zebra, Pangolin, Warthog, Hyena, Leopard, Buffalo, Civet, Genet, Topi, Eland, Klipspringer, Oribi, Sitatunga, Impala, eland and crocodile. There is an excellent variety of water and acacia savannah bird species (357 bird species) like crested crane, the rare shoebill stork, marabou stork and bronze-tailed starling, bee eaters and even more exotic birds like Blue Naped Coucal. The lake supports a wonderful diversity of birds.
Day 1: Kampala – Lake Mburo National Park
Morning breakfast and set off to Lake Mburo National Park by road from Kampala which is approximately 3-4 hours (230km) to the park head quarters. Along the way you will find Mpambire Drum shop and the Equator and the Lake Mburo Heritage Village, which are places of interests to tourists. You will have lunch at the park and after go for a boat trip on Lake Mburo to view bird and animal life at the banks. You will have dinner and an overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp.
Day 2: Game viewing in LMNP
After breakfast, you will go for game viewing which is the major tourist activity in this Park, being famous for its richness in biodiversity. It has an estimate of 68 different species of mammals such as Topi, Impala, Zebra, Buffalo, Eland, Roan antelope and leopard, Hyenas and jackals. After the view, have an enroute lunch while proceeding to Queen Elizabeth National Park to have a glimpse of the animal and bird life that is found in the park. You will have dinner and an overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp.
Day 3: Departure
An early morning breakfast and later head back to Kampala.
