CONGO GORILLA SAFARI TOUR  

A 3 days safari to Virunga National Park, Congo
This gorilla tour takes you to Virunga National Park which is located on the Eastern side of Congo from Kisoro district famous for the mountain gorilla tracking living in the tropical rainforest. This park borders Uganda and Congo with two active volcanoes namely Nyiragongo and Nyamurangira.

Day 1: Kampala to Kisoro
After breakfast, you will leave in the morning while driving southwards from Kampala to Kisoro and stop over at the equator for a brief photography with lunch en-route. On your way you may see the typical long horned Ankole cows, varying vegetation to the terraced region of Kigezi. Kisoro is located within the area of the tropical rain forests at the borders between Uganda, Congo and Rwanda, at the foothills of Muhavura and other Volcanoes. You will arrive in Kisoro late evening. Dinner and Overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in the Virungas
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and drive to the Uganda-Congo border ready for mountain gorilla tracking in the Virunga Park, Congo. You will have a briefing from the park authorities on how to track the gorillas before embarking on your search in the tropical rainforest. While searching for these gorillas, you will also see birds and primates such as the Golden Monkeys, giant forest hogs, Blue Monkeys, Black and White Colobus monkey among others. . Do not forget to take packed lunch and drinking water. After tracking, return for dinner and overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel.

Day 3: Kisoro to Kampala
Drive back to Kampala after breakfast with lunch en-route arriving late evening.

Virunga National Park covers an area of 790,000 ha. The park comprises of an outstanding diversity of habitats, ranging from swamps and steppes to the snowfields of Ruwenzori at an altitude of over 5,000 m, and from lava plains to the savannahs on the slopes of volcanoes.
