GORILLA SAFARIS
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali.
Arrive at the Kigali Airport. Meet and greet our Adventure Trails’ guide or driver and proceed to the genocide museum to view the historical monuments there, have a city tour while heading to Ruhengeri. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Kinigi guest house (FB)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Parc National des Volcans
After an early breakfast, depart to the park headquarters for the briefing on Gorilla trip formalities with packed lunch and trekking gears to enable you trek easily. Set off for the trekking into the tropical rain forest in search for the habituated gorilla groups. It’s the most breathtaking and distressing wildlife experiences one can have by getting close to the animals to get a good observation. The huge biodiversity, implausible scenery and extraordinary views also attract tourists. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Kinigi guest house (FB)
Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
From Parc National des Volcano, head to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Visit the old palace in Nyanza. Drive past green hills of tea and the vast Nyungwe Forest. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking
This morning you will go for chimp tracking in Nyungwe National park, enjoying a full day guided nature walk in the forest in search of the 13 recorded species of primates, including chimpanzees, large groups of Rwenzori colobus and velvet monkeys, olive baboons and grey-cheeked mangabey. Home to over 275 bird species, this is also the most important birding site in Rwanda. Tracking is on steep slippery hillsides and viewing is unpredictable. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Lodge on the western edge of the Nyungwe forest
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, have an optional guided nature walk or Return to Kigali as soon as possible to a city tour. Transfer to Kigali Airport for departure.
