RWANDA GORILLA TREK (5 DAYS)

This is a 5 days’ gorilla trek in Rwanda. This safari begins and ends in Kigali. The safari takes you for mountain gorilla trekking in the Parc National des Volcano. There are only about 650 mountain gorillas remaining in their natural habitat in the world. Their habitats are in Congo, Uganda and Rwanda. Presently, Rwanda not only enjoys the best security in the region but also has the easiest access routes for visiting the mountain gorillas.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arrive in Kigali and be met by our Adventure Trails’ guide/driver. After briefing, a transfer to Kigali city for a city tour, genocide museum visit and later proceed to the hotel for an overnight. Dinner and overnight at Kigali, Serena Hotel /Novotel Hotel or Okapi Hotel

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in PNV
After an early breakfast, depart to the park headquarters for the briefing about the gorilla trip with packed lunch and trekking gears ready to enable you trek easily. Set off for the trekking into the tropical rain forest in search for the habituated gorilla groups. It’s the most breathtaking and gratifying wildlife experience one can have by getting close to the animals to get a good observation. The huge biodiversity, implausible scenery and extraordinary views also attract tourists. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Kinigi guest house (FB)

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
From Parc National des Volcano, you will head to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will visit the old palace in Nyanza and there after drive past green hills of tea and the vast Nyungwe Forest. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Lodge (Full Board)

Day 4: Second gorilla trek
After breakfast at the lodge, you will carry out the second gorilla trek in the park, visiting a different gorilla group. After the activity, you will have lunch at the Lodge and drive along Lake Kivu to the lakeshore town of Kibuye. Lake Kivu is a beautiful enormous inland sea enclosed by the steep, green terraced hills which gives a good view to tourists. Arrive and check in at Kibuye Guest House which is on the edge of the lake. This will enable you to have a perfect swim in the clear waters. Dinner and overnight at Kibuye Guest House.

Day 5: Departure
Relaxation at the lakeshores or an optional boat trip on Lake Kivu. Explore the numerous islands, islets and peninsulas that characterize Kibuye or just enjoy a swim into the lake. Lunch at the Guest House before driving back to Kigali for a departure flight.
